T h e    m a i n    g o a l of the Project is to provide support to increase the level of involvement of rural women in their local communities within the 4 selected municipalities as well as in their national minority councils thus contributing to civil society development and good inter-ethnic relations. 

The project aims to: activate and educate the traditionally passive and marginalized population of rural women from minority groups to take active part in public and life of their community; aid the process of forming new rural women leaders; contribute to development of tolerance and cooperation among women from all the ethnic groups in the region; and most importantly to assist participants in running for local community and minority national council positions as support to development of a more open and diverse democratic society. 

O b j e c t i v e s:

Raise the awareness on the need to increase the number / percentage of women represented on public bodies such as MZ councils and nationa minority councils;

bullet

Increase the knowledge on electoral processes and related subjects among rural women;

bullet

Help build leadership and other skills needed for leaders through education and training;

bullet

Provide support and offer positive model / best practices to women future candidates in local community institutions and in national minority councils

bullet

Contribute to achieving increased activity and participation of rural women in the life of their community.
